Judgement of Paris: US Out of Climate Change Accord.

President Trump has pulled the USA out of the much-ballyhooed Paris Climate Change Agreement, a major blow to the psyche of Green Mafia members across the world. As the New York Times – top-shelf spokesman for the Green Mafia – lamented:

President Trump announced on Thursday that the United States would withdraw from the Paris climate accord, weakening efforts to combat global warming and embracing isolationist voices in his White House who argued that the agreement was a pernicious threat to the economy and American sovereignty.

In a speech from the Rose Garden, Mr. Trump said the landmark 2015 pact imposed wildly unfair environmental standards on American businesses and workers. He vowed to stand with the people of the United States against what he called a “draconian” international deal.

“I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris,” the president said, drawing support from members of his Republican Party but widespread condemnation from political leaders, business executives and environmentalists around the globe.

Let’s cut to the chase: Very few people care about Climate Change as a political issue. I mean, really care. Next to zero Republicans care. Many liberals and Democrats pay lip service to Climate Change as a feel-good measure, similar to calling Bruce “Caitlyn” and saving the whales, but they don’t really care. They drive to work everyday. They buy products from heavily-polluting factories in China.

Basically, Climate Change is moral catharsis for rich liberals. They need reasons to feel like good people, so they invent causes like Climate Change to achieve this. But these people are heavy polluters. They fly private jets, ride big yachts, drive huge SUVs – sometimes in armored motorcades. Their enormous homes consume large amounts of electrical power, which is probably provided by burning coal. Maybe natural gas or nuclear, if they’re lucky.

None of these people have any intention of changing their lifestyle, of course. Not even Climate Change action’s loudest spokespeople seem to believe their own rhetoric.

Pay attention to the last line of this segment:

Mr. Trump’s decision to abandon the agreement for environmental action signed by 195 nations is a remarkable rebuke to heads of state, climate activists, corporate executives and members of the president’s own staff, who all failed to change his mind with an intense, last-minute lobbying blitz. The Paris agreement was intended to bind the world community into battling rising temperatures in concert, and the departure of the Earth’s second-largest polluter is a major blow.

Who’s the first-largest polluter? China. China is an example of a nation that really, truly does have a problem with pollution. See the photos for yourself.

I have discussed this before. The Communist Chinese government is mercantilist in economic outlook. They aspire to be the low-cost factory nation of the world – and they are. The price is paid for by their own citizens – both in economic terms and environmental terms.

The Chinese government’s reaction to Trump’s withdrawal was humorous: faux outrage.

President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris accord was a huge setback- in the global battle against climate change, state news agency Xinhua said, and a retreat from the common aspiration of mankind for a low-carbon future.

But if there was regret, it was mixed with not a little gloating.

Citing environmentalists, Xinhua called Trump reckless and foolish, and said he was isolating the United States. China Daily denounced the single action of just one man- that can change the course of the world, drawing a direct parallel with former president George W. Bush and decisions taken in the name of the war on terror.

If you believe for a second that the Communists of China actually care about the environment, then I have a bridge for you to buy in New York. Call me!

Here’s what really going on here. “Look! A squirrel!”

China signed the Paris Accords. But the agreement was purely symbolic from the beginning. It was a political stunt, and pure meaningless twaddle. Bottom-line: there is no way to enforce the Paris Climate agreement. There is no international organization that is able to administer negative sanctions on nations that pollute too much. What good is the agreement if it has no teeth?

Furthermore, each nation gets to report their own pollution numbers. Anyone who thinks that the Communists in China won’t fudge their own numbers is hopelessly naive. In China, all of the numbers are fudged. They are due a massive recession partially because of this. The Chinese government would simply fudge their pollution numbers. And even if they didn’t, who’s gonna force them to change anything?

Trump has given China a major out. They never intended to uphold the Paris agreement. Their entire economy depends on their heavily-polluting factories pumping out low-cost trinkets. But because Trump pulled out of the agreement, now they have no obligation to do anything. They can point to Trump and claim, “We’re not not doing it if HE’S not doing it!”

China was never going to do it. But they can use Trump’s action as a smokescreen – pun intended – for their own legitimacy. I’m sure plenty of top Communist bureaucrats are clicking their heels. “Now we don’t even have to PRETEND to go along with this stupid act!”

The Climate Change movement is one big farce. The biggest adherents of the faith in Hollywood and politics chatter about the issue endlessly. But they don’t live as if they believe it. Al Gore and Obama fly private jets and take cross-country motorcades in gas-guzzling armored vehicles. Yet they expect me to believe there’s a climate crisis and that my own freedom and tax dollars must be sacrificed to fight it? They don’t even believe themselves. Why should I?

These people are truly out of touch. The wine-and-cheese liberals who cry constantly about Climate Change really believe that regular Americans think like they do. “Why, I care about Climate Change, and I am very smart and wonderful. Surely everyone cares about Climate Change?”

Americans care about jobs. That is the #1 issue. Trump hung his hat on this issue. Hillary ignored it. She paid the price.

After the fall of the USSR, all of the Socialists and former Marxists in the West still wanted to seize power and control everyone. But now that Communism was dead, they needed a new reason to justify wanting to seize power and control everyone. They chose Global Warming – I mean, Global Cooling – I mean, Climate Change.

But the issue has no political traction. The Kyoto Protocols of 1992 languished in Washington DC for 20 years before dying permanently in 2012. Nobody batted an eyelash when it was gone. Democrats and liberals are trying to rally the troops around promises of man-made Climate Change disaster, but the troops aren’t interested. The effort is totally futile.

For eight years, Obama tried to rally the troops around gun control. That went nowhere. He achieved the opposite. Gun sales went through the roof due to buyer fears that he might get more gun control.

Bernie Sanders has rallied some support under that ol’ most lucrative of banners: “free goodies”. That never fails to rally some troops. But it isn’t clear yet if Democrats can get a majority of voters to rally around “free goodies” as a casus belli. There are a lot of wealthy liberals. They probably have an inkling of where the money for free goodies is supposed to come from.

When the next major recession hits – which I predict will arrive soon – common liberal causes like Climate Change and Gun Control are going to get tossed entirely to the wayside. Voters will care about one thing and one thing only: jobs and money. We’ll see if liberal politicians can figure that out by then.
