The Colonel & the Fool: Putin Vs. Obama.

Yesterday, President Obama enacted a round of sanctions against the Russian government over accused “hacking and meddling” in the US presidential election. This included expelling all 35 Russian diplomats from the country.

What “meddling” has the US government proven was done by the Russians in the election? None. Zip. Zilch. There is zero evidence available that the Russian Government meddled in the US presidential election to the extent of getting Trump elected. If such evidence exists, the US government has not released it- which, of course, does the public no good in trusting what they say.

As for hacking, this too has zero evidence. It is claimed that the Russian operatives hacked the e-mail of of the DNC, leading to the major leak of unsavory information resulting in negative press for Hillary and the ouster of top Democratic Party leadership by angry constituents. But Wikileaks, the agency which released the e-mails,has repeatedly denied the Russian Government as the source of the leaks, instead pinning it on a disgruntled Democratic Party operative. As the Daily Mail reports:

A Wikileaks envoy today claims he personally received Clinton campaign emails in Washington D.C. after they were leaked by ‘disgusted’ whisteblowers – and not hacked by Russia.

Craig Murray, former British ambassador to Uzbekistan and a close associate of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange, told that he flew to Washington, D.C. for a clandestine hand-off with one of the email sources in September.

‘Neither of [the leaks] came from the Russians,’ said Murray in an interview with on Tuesday. ‘The source had legal access to the information. The documents came from inside leaks, not hacks.’

After the announcement of the sanctions are expulsion of Russian diplomats, what was the official Russian response? This tweet from the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom:

I let out a laugh when I saw this. Ain’t no lie: the Russians zinged him. Barack Obama is utterly feckless and incompetent, and everybody knows it.

To further humiliate Barry-O, Russian President Vladimir Putin chose NOT to return Obama’s ill will and has not expelled US diplomats in Russia. In his official statement on the topic, Putin said this:

As it proceeds from international practice, Russia has reasons to respond in kind. Although we have the right to retaliate, we will not resort to irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy but will plan our further steps to restore Russian-US relations based on the policies of the Trump Administration.

The diplomats who are returning to Russia will spend the New Year’s holidays with their families and friends. We will not create any problems for US diplomats. We will not expel anyone. We will not prevent their families and children from using their traditional leisure sites during the New Year’s holidays. Moreover, I invite all children of US diplomats accredited in Russia to the New Year and Christmas children’s parties in the Kremlin.

It is regrettable that the Obama Administration is ending its term in this manner. Nevertheless, I offer my New Year greetings to President Obama and his family.

My season’s greetings also to President-elect Donald Trump and the American people.

There is no question: Vladimir Putin is making Obama look like a complete fool. I said as early as three years ago, when the USA began to butt heads with Russia over Ukraine and Syria, that Putin would run circles around Obama. And he did. He is running Obama out of the Oval Office with his tail tucked between his legs.

The Democrats, led by Obama, are in complete panic mode. They are desperate to prove that Russia was responsible for Hillary’s election loss in the same way that Republicans were desperate to prove Saddam had weapons of mass destruction in 2003. They are desperate to find any excuse for why Hillary lost other than the obvious reason: that she was a shrill, irritating old crook who was hated by most of the voters, Republican and Democrat alike.

At this point in time, Obama will still be the figurative leader of the Democratic Party when he leaves office. Hillary will fade into the sunset. Bernie Sanders does not have wide enough appeal, and might be too old. Elizabeth Warren – Senator Pocahontas – may rise to the occasion, but that is not yet assured. So Obama will continue to be the representative leader of the party for at least a few months after he leaves office, if not longer.

We’ve learned a lesson after 8 years: if you need competent leadership from Obama, you won’t get it. They need a new leader, and soon.
