Above The Law: No Charges for Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton has officially been cleared of any potential charges related to her e-mail scandal by the head of the FBI, James Comey.

This was the last hurdle between Hillary and the Democratic nomination for President. If she’d been charged, Bernie Sanders probably would’ve been the nominee. But Granny Hill has been cleared, so her path is set. She will be the nominee. In all likelihood, the next president.

From CNN, we read this:

FBI Director James Comey said Tuesday that he would not recommend charges against Hillary Clinton over her use of private email servers while secretary of state, removing a huge shadow hovering over her presidential campaign.

But Comey administered an extraordinary tongue-lashing to Clinton and her aides, rebuking them for being “extremely careless” in the handling of classified information and saying the presumptive Democratic nominee should have known an unclassified email system was no place to conduct sensitive government business.

This does not make any sense. If what Comey says here is true, then Hillary is guilty. When handling classified information, carelessness is a crime. They make this clear in government information security briefings (which I attended while in the military): if you get careless with classified information, you can be charged with a crime. It’s no excuse if unintentional.

So if Hillary and her lackeys were careless with classified information, such as sending classified e-mail over an unclassified network, then they committed a crime. Comey says that she and her lackeys were careless. So, they’re guilty.

If there was no carelessness found, then Comey should’ve simply said “There was no mishandling of classified information. She is innocent. End of story.”

Instead, he paid lip service to the publicly known fact that she knowingly sent classified information over an unclassified system. He specifically stated that she was “careless”. So, there was a crime. End of story. She should be charged. As Donald Trump pointed out in a tweet following the announcement, General Petraeus’ career was destroyed for less severe offenses of the same type.

From the exact transcript of Comey’s announcement comes this irritating soundbite:

“To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.”

I see. I will give Comey points for honesty, at least. To make it more succinct, here’s what he’s actually saying: “A normal person would probably be charged with a crime for this. But this is Hillary Clinton we’re talking about, so she gets away with it.”

The message here is clear: Hillary Clinton is above the law. Rules are for the little people, not for political bigshots like the Royal Clintons.

I am not surprised by this. I figured all along she would not face charges. The Clintons have repeatedly been shown to be above the law. Billy Boy got away with rape, infidelity, and child molestation, all while in office. Barely anyone cared. There was one half-hearted impeachment proceeding, then everyone gave up and let him go about his business.

In terms of getting elected, this is a victory for Clinton. But I think it is a pyrrhic victory. I think that her presidency will be dead-on-arrival.

Nobody trusts Hillary except the most jaded of feminists and welfare slaves. She has zero charisma. Republican voters hate her. Nearly half of all Democrats hate her. Democrats will vote for her out of party inertia and “Never Trump”, but not because they like her.

Unlike her husband, she has no charm or affability. Nobody from the other side of the political room will work with her. The House of Representatives will stay Republican, and they will knock back anything she sends across the plate.

She won’t get the 100-day presidential honeymoon period of cooperation. Everyone hates her too much. Will she finally pass Hillarycare? Not a chance.

This scandal, in addition to Benghazi and the cover-ups for her husband, has destroyed her credibility. She has no legitimacy. Nobody will work with her.

She will inherit America’s failing wars: Afghanistan, Syria, and ISIS. They will continue to flounder under her administration.

Within two years, the USA will undergo a large recession. She will be blamed for it. If Trump is smart, he’ll be around to blast her, and her voters, for it: “I told ya so, dum-dums.”

Not only will nobody trust her, but everyone will also lose confidence in her. Republicans will sweep Congressional elections in 2018 as a result. She will become even more powerless.

The 2020 election will arrive. She will not be re-elected.

Hillary is a ladder-climber. She has expended a huge amount of her public trust and legitimacy on climbing the political ladder.

A few days ago, I wrote about the economics of power. Clinton’s problem are the economics of trust. She has squandered her trust. The public will give her no quarter when her administration flops.
