Thomas Sowell talks Welfare.

Thomas Sowell is one of the most compelling economists of all time, second only to Murray Rothbard (in my opinion). He is a powerful writer, and an equally powerful speaker.

In this classic piece from Milton Friedman’s “Free to Choose” PBS series, Sowell discusses the nature of the Welfare State and how it not only subsidizes and rewards poverty, but actually drives families further into poverty over time.
