Ron Paul on CNBC: “The Country is Bankrupt And Nobody Wants to Admit it.”

In a brief interview on CNBC earlier today, longtime libertarian advocate Ron Paul declared that “the country is bankrupt and nobody wants to admit it.

He goes on to say that The American people are being bamboozled into believing that you have to keep spending for ever, and that “neither side is truly looking for spending cuts.” Dr. Paul charges both parties as partners-in-crime for upholding the status quo of “Keynesianism, Militarism, and Interventionism, and the funny-money system that we use.

While more are waking up to it,” Paul states, “there is still an appetite for big government – people are afraid to give up on it. He goes on to declare that both parties are “rigid with bad ideas“, in thatdeficits don’t matter, the government has to spend, and the government has to take care of us, and you should print money when you need it.”

Speaking of both parties’ inclination towards spending, Dr. Paul warns that if they continue acting like “deficits don’t matter, it will not be a shutdown of government but a breakdown of government that occurs.”

I am having trouble getting the video to embed, but the interview can be accessed here.
